Ask Me Anything Sessions

Our community has greatly benefited from three engaging Ask Me Anything (AMA) sessions over the past three months. These sessions facilitated insightful discussions where practitioners openly shared their challenges, proposed solutions, and brainstormed on areas needing improvement within the industry. The AMAs also shed light on upcoming topics of interest to our risk and resilience community. We extend our heartfelt thanks to our dedicated members and regular participants, and extend a warm welcome to our new members. Your active participation is deeply valued and appreciated.

Webinar: Conquering the Cloud - Making DR Resilient

On May 22, 2024, we hosted a free webinar titled "Conquering the Cloud: Making DR Resilient" with guest speaker Melissa Muñiz. The session provided essential strategies for developing resilient cloud recovery plans, ensuring that our community is well-equipped to handle disruptions in the digital age. A recording of this session is available on our Member Portal.

Resilience for Everyone Project

We also launched a new project, Resilience for Everyone, inviting submissions from our community. Michael Janko MBCP, MBCI, ARM, CBCLA shared his insightful thoughts on what resilience means for organizations and individuals:

Every organization should seek to be the most resilient one in their field, sector, brand, etc. This benefits their associates, investors, business partners, the community, etc.. My hypothesis is an organization benefits most by having resilient leaders engaged in supporting operational resilience. Resilient individuals are strong, persistent, tenacious, tough, with mental strength, handle stress, are optimistic, in great shape, have gratitude, and are survivors. Operational resilience includes being able to rebound, adapt, embrace, recover quickly, tackle issues, and continually improve. The journey toward operational resilience includes:
  • Having a documented roadmap

  • Turning risks into opportunities

  • Aligning the team

  • Resilient deployment

  • Aligning on common objectives

  • Following a maturity model

  • Maintaining momentum

When resilient leaders are continually involved in operational leadership, it leads to competitive advantages.

Interactive Live Session: "60-Minute Plan: Build a Resilience Plan with RTT"

On June 12th, 2024, resilience professionals gathered virtually to tackle a crucial question: "What defines a great resilience plan?" Curious about the insights shared? The Resilience Plan template will soon be available to all RTT members.

Led by RTT Managing Partners Milena Maneva, Lisa Jones and James Green, this interactive session aimed to build the ultimate industry agnostic resilience plan.

The event saw great interest and attendance, with participants split into three breakout rooms for in-depth discussions. According to globally recognised standards, a resilience plan is a comprehensive strategy designed to help an organization prepare for, respond to, and recover from disruptions. A good resilience plan includes key components such as Risk Assessment, Mitigation Strategies, Recovery Plans, Resources Needed, and Communications. Attendees were divided into three breakout rooms for deep-dive conversations and each group used these essential elements to discussed what an ideal resilience plan looks like. Participants also had the opportunity to add their ideas on what might be missing.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to these discussions and enriched our community.
