Our Story
A select group of risk and resilience leaders based in the US, UK and Canada formed a group dedicated to providing guidance and research to their peers. The Resilience Think Tank is focused on simplifying complex issues and providing commentary on topics trending in the risk and resilience industries. Co-founder Mark Hoffman had the idea for forming a peer group after winning the BCI Americas Consulting Award back in April 2021. Realizing how fortunate he and his colleagues were, Mark said “Several in our industry find themselves in an uncertain time, struggling because they work for an organization that doesn’t understand the value that they bring to the table.”

In May, Mark invited five people to join him to identify ways to articulate the value that BCM professionals bring. The group quickly realized there were many areas where they could contribute expert analysis and advice, and effective solutions to enhance resilience. The Resilience Think Tank was born. Resilience Think Tank members provide an international perspective and reside in Tampa, Toronto, Philadelphia, Boston and London. In addition to Mark Hoffman, co-founders include James Green, Lisa Jones, Milena Maneva, as well as Andreas Bryant and Ashley Goosman. Collectively, the group shares 87 years of experience spanning across resilience, business continuity, crisis and risk management. Their aim is to take a multidisciplinary approach and share knowledge that helps educate up-to-date decision-making informed on their collective public, private, NGO, and consultancy experience.

James Green

James Green is an advocate of intelligent risk taking, driven by the belief that risk can be a powerful tool to help organizations reach their maximum potential. James uses the breadth of his experience to help C-Suite figures address the rapidly evolving risks that shape the world today. James has spent much of his career helping firms navigate turbulent circumstances and become resilient. James has also aided in risk management efforts across the globe from civil unrest during the Arab Spring, to typhoons in the Pacific Rim. Currently, he is the co-founder of Illuminate Advisory and one of the global co-founders of the Resilience Think Tank.
Lisa Jones
Co-Founder & Managing Partner
Lisa Jones is a gifted communicator with over 15 years experience promoting resiliency and elevating contingency planning visibility. She has led comprehensive programs within healthcare, education, and the manufacturing industry. She readily shares insight on planning awareness, recovery strategies and industry trends, through presentations, articles and thought leadership projects. Currently, she served as President of the BCI USA Chapter. Lisa’s goal is to ensure organizations recognize the value business continuity professionals provide.
Mark Hoffman

Mark Hoffman is a multi-award-winner, senior business continuity and resilience consultant, located in the Great Toronto area. He is a co-founder and partner of the Resilience Think Tank, owner of Anesis Consulting Group, Inc. and host of the Resilient Journey podcast. With over 25 years of industry experience, Mark continues to provide world-class consulting to organizations in the US, Canada, Caribbean, and Europe with a focus on BCM Program development and maturity, crisis management, crisis communications and cyber response.
Milena Maneva
Co-Founder & Managing Partner
Milena Maneva has extensive experience spanning the financial services, brokerage, legal, and real estate sectors. Her knowledge and proficiency encompass resilience, risk management, governance, business continuity, and crisis management. Milena's unwavering passion lies in empowering both organizations and individuals to unlock their full potential through the cultivation of a culture rooted in readiness and resilience. Milena holds an MSc in Risk Management and has made significant contributions as a Chair, Global Board Director and other advisory roles.
